Obama's decision on Afghanistan angers the left and the right.

Barry did it again and has somehow managed to piss off both sides of the ideological spectrum.   Tonight we will be informed of a formal decision to commit 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan with a specific time frame.  People on the Right are upset for two reasons, both have merit.  Firstly, they are upset it took Barry this long to come up with a decision and do not understand why a troop surge could not have been performed earlier.   Secondly they are upset that we are publicly disclosing a time table and this sends too much information to the Taliban.  Logical, although someone who lacks any experience what so ever is not supposed to make decisions quickly. Frankly announcing to the enemy one's exit strategy strikes me as painfully brain dead. People on the Left are upset for two reasons as well and only one has merit.  First they are upset because they feel betrayed by a president they believed was anti-war.  Much like many clue...

Four dead police officers can be blamed on Huckabee.

In a grizzly act of savage violence four police officers were gunned down by a man whose criminal past shocked authorities.  Maurice Clemmons the alleged shooter does have an interesting past and it is inexorably tied to Mike Huckabee a 2008 presidential candidate and former governor of Arkansas.  Huckabee was touted during the campaign as someone utilizing the commutation power a bit liberally and liberal is a rather appropriate choice of words in this particular case.  In an interview , Huckabee states: "If I could have known nine years ago, looked into the future, would I have acted favorably upon the parole board's recommendation? Of course not," he said. "One of the things that is horrible and just, again, one of the realities you have to confront is the criminal justice system is far from perfect, and in this case it failed miserably on all sides." Huckabee can blame the justice system all day long, but there is no escaping that it was Huckabee'...

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Image
Let's take a moment away from the hustle and bustle of life and celebrate this festive holiday.   Despite all the hardships of life there remains much to be thankful for and hopefully you have an opportunity to celebrate with your family and friends.   While politics will invariably be a topic of choice during many thanksgiving dinners across the country I would urge most people to put the hot issues of the day aside.   In today's America partisanship and bitter strong feelings permeate our every fiber and we should, for our sanity's sake, reserve one day for peace and quiet.  However we still have several hours before cooking begins and here are just some things we can all be thankful for.  54 percent of our fellow Americans disapprove of the job Barry is doing.  Only 38 percent of our fellow Americans approve of ObamaCare. This pretty much leaves the core liberal base and "should" effectively kill the bill! SNL, the liberal voice...

What is your dollar worth?

Image
Prescient question, no?  Have you ever actually wondered what the worth of our money really is?  At one point, not so long ago (about 200 years) a dollar used to be worth it's weight in gold - literally - about 17g of gold or between 371 and 416 grains of silver.   We of course don't use dollars, we use Federal Reserve Notes and if you don't believe me then pull out a "dollar" from your pocket and examine the text on top.  Yes, it also mentions the world dollar, but only because the Federal Reserve deemed it so - and the once equivalent 17g of gold is long gone.   Although it is no longer backed by precious metal it is backed by the full faith and credit of the US Government, a hefty promise indeed.  In more simple terms, it simply means that the Federal Reserve Notes are backed by you and other American's ability to produce and pay taxes.   The problem arises when the full faith and credit of an institution is in question an...

Senator Inhofe on the matter of the stolen Global Warming emails.

Below is an interview with Senator Inhofe a leading political figure on the issue of global warming "science" once calling Global Warming a hoax.  For those that still believe that the stolen emails represent nothing (ahem - NYT) or somehow demonstrate the desperation of the "right", I suggest your get with the program and stop slurping the Kool-Aid.  While the method by which they were obtained is deplorable ignoring them despite the constant errors coming out of the global warming camps is equally idiotic.  Senator Inhofe plans to launch a full investigation and rightfully so because we are talking about millions of dollars squandered on this research with no results and for no damn reason.  We should absolutely strive to have the most innovative and advanced technology in the world, we should ween ourselves from foreign oil and we should certainly develop methodologies that could assist us in preserving the sanctity of our planet - but because we want to...

SNL slams Obama over spending.

While SNL has made fun of Obama before, this is probably the most accurate and brutal mockery we have seen so far!  Not only is it actually funny (for the first time), but it tends to capture much of what some of us have been trying to explain to those believing that Obama actually knows what he is doing.  Truth is, Obama's agenda is not what we are battling against, but rather that of Pelosi and Reid with Obama rallying the liberal base in the background.  More importantly the monetary policy that has lead this country down a one way path to destruction is not necessarily Obama's fault, nor Bush's and not even Clinton's.  Yet we must admit that if not for Obama, then things like the 787 Stimulus package, (Obama/Pelosi/Reid)Care would probably not be the current topic of discussion. Seems like SNL has finally come to it's senses and beginning to understand the very dangerous path we have embarked.  Now, when will the rest of the rational liberal base wake up...

Hacked e-mail shows skepticism among key scientist!

While combing through several emails, I have stumbled upon what appears to be a very important email that should speak for itself.  The following email written by Kevin E. Trenberth  is head of the Climate Analysis Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. He was a lead author of the 2001 and 2007 IPCC Scientific Assessment of Climate Change (see IPCC Fourth Assessment Report) and serves on the Scientific Steering Group for the Climate Variability and Predictability (CLIVAR) program.  Note:  Kevin has written material suggesting that cooling can occur during larger global warming periods. My emphasis in bold. Hi all Well I have my own article on where the heck is global warming? We are asking that here in Boulder where we have broken records the past two days for the coldest days on record. We had 4 inches of snow. The high the last 2 days was below 30F and the normal is 69F, and it smashed the previous records for these days by 10F. The l...
