MA Senate 2010 - A look at the candidates: Brown, Robinson, Kennedy.

The race for the MA 2010 Senate is now heating up with prospective candidates blasting the airways and spamming the television channels.   I have already examined the Democrat candidates in an analysis of the first televised debate .  In summary, the four liberal democrats are all competing between themselves in who can expand government faster.  Virtually every one is a disgrace, could care less about our Constitution and has virtually no understanding about economics.  So now we turn to three other candidates. Republican Scott Brown Republican Jack E. Robinson Independent Joe Kennedy (no relation). Jack E. Robinson:   Appears to be an eccentric fellow, but unfortunately has been missing in action when it comes to any debate.  Ironically he claims that Scott Brown is the one dodging the debate, but in an opportunity to debate the issue on a local radio station 96.9 only Scott Brown showed up. Therefore Robinson's approach to this race leave...

Senator DeMint questions Bernanke during confirmation process

Ben Bernanke our illustrious Federal Reserve chairman is going through the process of being reconfirmed for a second term.  Rumors have been circulating that several senators strongly object to Bernanke given the failures over the past several years.  Below is a video showing Jim DeMint and Bernanke, DeMint does more of the talking. Most of the questions asked were poignant and really serve to illustrate the overall problem and deficiency of the Federal Reseve system.  We have in this country, a county that boasts the utilization of free market, a market whereby the supply and demand of money is controlled through a central authority.  This monetary policy coupled with a highly leveraged fractional reserve banking system can and had created violent gyrations in our economy.  Worse yet the soundness of our currency has also been significantly compromised by an institution that can at any given time create money out of thin air. My only objection to DeMint's o...

Cost of ObamaCare in Senate? 2.5 trillion!

This is not an estimate from Heritage or Cato, this is from Max Baucus one of the principal architects of the Senates version of the bill.  Straight from the horse's mouth as they say. Dems Admit That The Bill Will Cost “$2.5 Trillion” “Depending On Where You Start” SEN. MAX BAUCUS (D-MT): “Health Care Reform” Will Cost “$2.5 Trillion” SEN. MAX BAUCUS (D-MT): “Just for a second -- health care reform, whether you use a ten-year number or when you start in 2010 or start in 2014, wherever you start at, so it is still either $1 trillion or it's $2.5 Trillion, depending on where you start…” (Sen. Baucus, Floor Remarks, 12/2/09) ### SENATE REPUBLICAN COMMUNICATIONS CENTER The problem lies with the front loaded cost estimates whereby taxation starts early, but the programs start later.  When taking a peek a few years into the future the costs pile up in a horrendous fashion and this is only what the government estimates!  Remember the same government that estimated ...

Obama's decision on Afghanistan angers the left and the right.

Barry did it again and has somehow managed to piss off both sides of the ideological spectrum.   Tonight we will be informed of a formal decision to commit 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan with a specific time frame.  People on the Right are upset for two reasons, both have merit.  Firstly, they are upset it took Barry this long to come up with a decision and do not understand why a troop surge could not have been performed earlier.   Secondly they are upset that we are publicly disclosing a time table and this sends too much information to the Taliban.  Logical, although someone who lacks any experience what so ever is not supposed to make decisions quickly. Frankly announcing to the enemy one's exit strategy strikes me as painfully brain dead. People on the Left are upset for two reasons as well and only one has merit.  First they are upset because they feel betrayed by a president they believed was anti-war.  Much like many clue...

Four dead police officers can be blamed on Huckabee.

In a grizzly act of savage violence four police officers were gunned down by a man whose criminal past shocked authorities.  Maurice Clemmons the alleged shooter does have an interesting past and it is inexorably tied to Mike Huckabee a 2008 presidential candidate and former governor of Arkansas.  Huckabee was touted during the campaign as someone utilizing the commutation power a bit liberally and liberal is a rather appropriate choice of words in this particular case.  In an interview , Huckabee states: "If I could have known nine years ago, looked into the future, would I have acted favorably upon the parole board's recommendation? Of course not," he said. "One of the things that is horrible and just, again, one of the realities you have to confront is the criminal justice system is far from perfect, and in this case it failed miserably on all sides." Huckabee can blame the justice system all day long, but there is no escaping that it was Huckabee'...

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Image
Let's take a moment away from the hustle and bustle of life and celebrate this festive holiday.   Despite all the hardships of life there remains much to be thankful for and hopefully you have an opportunity to celebrate with your family and friends.   While politics will invariably be a topic of choice during many thanksgiving dinners across the country I would urge most people to put the hot issues of the day aside.   In today's America partisanship and bitter strong feelings permeate our every fiber and we should, for our sanity's sake, reserve one day for peace and quiet.  However we still have several hours before cooking begins and here are just some things we can all be thankful for.  54 percent of our fellow Americans disapprove of the job Barry is doing.  Only 38 percent of our fellow Americans approve of ObamaCare. This pretty much leaves the core liberal base and "should" effectively kill the bill! SNL, the liberal voice...

What is your dollar worth?

Image
Prescient question, no?  Have you ever actually wondered what the worth of our money really is?  At one point, not so long ago (about 200 years) a dollar used to be worth it's weight in gold - literally - about 17g of gold or between 371 and 416 grains of silver.   We of course don't use dollars, we use Federal Reserve Notes and if you don't believe me then pull out a "dollar" from your pocket and examine the text on top.  Yes, it also mentions the world dollar, but only because the Federal Reserve deemed it so - and the once equivalent 17g of gold is long gone.   Although it is no longer backed by precious metal it is backed by the full faith and credit of the US Government, a hefty promise indeed.  In more simple terms, it simply means that the Federal Reserve Notes are backed by you and other American's ability to produce and pay taxes.   The problem arises when the full faith and credit of an institution is in question an...
