Taxachusetts, here we come (in our carpool)

A throwback to the 1970s, our own original hope-n-change governor has proposed his most daring tax hike yet. A 19 cent gas tax increase to pay for the struggling Mass. Transit/ MBTA department which will be on top of the proposed candy, soda, alcohol tax increases. SUVs will also be subjected to higher fees and a crackdown to ensure that MA residents avoid breaking the law and buying goods in tax free New Hampshire. How is that liberals still have not learned, that taxing people when they are hurting from a recession, depleted 401Ks, plummeting house values and rising unemployment is the surest way to exacerbate the situation? They did it under FDR, they did it in the 1970s, they did it in Japan and now they are doing it again? Even Bill Clinton had the bloody sense to implement the highest middle class tax increase during a recovery! (granted the democrats got the boot shortly after, but the difference is worth mentioning). So not only has Deval and his cronies scared MA residents

Netanyahu to be next prime minister of Israel.

I have been following Israeli elections with an interest this year because of the increased pressure that Obama will put on that little country. Obama's 7 person delegation to Durban II is already an extremely distressing sign that he might rescind his commitment to Israel - not like that should be a huge surprise to anyone. Bibi gets the nod . Despite Bibi's perceived radicalism and refusal to negotiate with almost anyone, like I said before this is a wonderful development and largely boosted by the leader of Yisrael Beiteinu (Avigdor Lieberman) who finally broke silence and stood behind Netanyahu. Israel needs a fiscally conservative strong minded leader, now more than ever. While I always think a country needs to be run by fiscal conservatives, in times of need and global hardship these types of leaders are paramount. I just wish Americans understood that before election Mr. Hope and Change, lets just hope Bibi does not piss off our new fragile leader or there goes that 30
