RomneyCare vs. ObamaCare - yes it's the same.

Image
As a resident of Taxachusetts my fellow residents can attest to what ObamaCare has in store for the rest of America. A lesson in RomneyCare is also a lesson in the danger of relying on so-called fiscal conservatives Republicans who will sell their allegiances in a heartbeat to further their political agendas. Beware of Romney and beware of Obama(Romney)Care. Primarily RomneyCare set out to cover our uninsured and while the jury is still out on how many remain uninsured, most will agree that a large number of people are now covered. Despite mandates and penalties, anywhere between 100,000 to 200,000 remain uninsured which in a population of 6 million is close to universal coverage. Sadly, this is precisely where the merits of RomneyCare end assuming that universal coverage is something we need to strive for ( more insurance is not the answer ). What did Romney promise us in this grand experiment? - Reduced costs for insurance premiums. - Health coverage will become affordable for a

Why should you care about ACORN? Franken might.

Bunch of nuts, right? What do you care if they offer services for smuggling underage sex slaves, right? So they got some federal money, so what, AIG got over 100 billion, right? What if ACORN is responsible for electing Al Franken and tipping the Democrat majority in the Senate? What if this majority grants liberals a chance to permanently alter the health care industry in America? What if this majority entrenches millions of new voters into Medicare thereby guaranteeing voters for life? FDR pulled similar stunts with his New Deal program, why can't history repeat itself? Or has it already? Katherine Kersten from Minnesota suggests it may very well be possible. Everyone knows that ACORN is notorious for voter registration fraud and not their shady racketeering practices, illegal immigrant smuggling or tax evasion - that is just a side business. Katherine writes: Here in Minnesota, ACORN has boasted of playing a major role in the 2008 elections. It claims to have registered 43,0

Richard Cohen rebukes Obama

Who? Huh? Just a very liberal voice from a very liberal paper, Richard Cohen's piece Time to Act Like a President from the Washington Post speaks loudly just based on title alone. While this may not be the proverbial rats fleeing from the sinking ship, Obama's invulnerability is coming to an end. Sharply criticized from two ideological extremes Obama's f aux centrist rhetoric will inevitably leave him with no base and undermine his capacity to lead. The trouble with Obama is that he gets into the moment and means what he says for that moment only. He meant what he said when he called Afghanistan a " war of necessity " -- and now is not necessarily so sure. He meant what he said about the public option in his health-care plan -- and then again maybe not . He would not prosecute CIA agents for getting rough with detainees -- and then again maybe he would. Obama is an empty suit and Liberals have become acutely aware of this fact. On the other side, Conservative

Cult of Personality or Public Education? Take 3.

No, you are not losing your mind, this is indeed a third video of school children singing about Obama or his policies. At this point the shock value has worn off and listening to these has become a nuisance. Granted this particular video has only one invocation of Dear Leader's name, but rather his campaign rhetoric in a not so catchy tune. First video really had a beat going, rhythm and was exciting in a Hitlerian youth kind of way, this one is rather disappointing. If our children our going to be indoctrinated with campaign rhetoric, can we at least get a snappy tune? Sheesh , can't even indoctrinate correctly. Note: According to the YouTube description this appears to be a parent teacher conference. So perhaps this out of normal school hours, but what parent could possibly endorse this? Yikes.
