Why should you care about ACORN? Franken might.

Bunch of nuts, right? What do you care if they offer services for smuggling underage sex slaves, right? So they got some federal money, so what, AIG got over 100 billion, right?

What if ACORN is responsible for electing Al Franken and tipping the Democrat majority in the Senate? What if this majority grants liberals a chance to permanently alter the health care industry in America? What if this majority entrenches millions of new voters into Medicare thereby guaranteeing voters for life? FDR pulled similar stunts with his New Deal program, why can't history repeat itself? Or has it already?

Katherine Kersten from Minnesota suggests it may very well be possible. Everyone knows that ACORN is notorious for voter registration fraud and not their shady racketeering practices, illegal immigrant smuggling or tax evasion - that is just a side business. Katherine writes:
Here in Minnesota, ACORN has boasted of playing a major role in the 2008
elections. It claims to have registered 43,000 new voters, which it describes as
75 percent of the state's new registrations. Franken's margin of victory in the
Senate race was razor-thin: 312 votes out of about 3 million cast...

...Secretary of State Mark Ritchie assures us that Minnesota's system of voter
verification protects electoral integrity.

But here's an uncomfortable fact: Ritchie himself was endorsed by the
now-notorious ACORN and elected with its help.

Awesome. Six years for three hundred votes out of a pool of freshly minted ACORN registrations.

Update: An example of ACORN's activities: 7 arrested for fraud, 4 more in question.
