Nouriel Roubini a professor at NYU wrote a piece outlining eight points as to why he thinks the projected recovery will take much longer than most anticipate. Newsweek already announced the recession is over , however Nouriel disagrees and in fact points to a developing possibility of a double dip recession and believe me, this is no ice cream treat. "Yeah uhm, I'll take a double dip recession with some unemployment sprinkles and debt chunks". Not so much, instead we are looking at a recovery of some kind followed by yet another recession. Fun fact time! During FDR and the expansion of government, America experienced it's first double dip recession or specifically a recession within a depression. FDR somehow managed to convinced the zombie masses that his predecessor somehow was to blame, but this tactic will not fly in the age of information. If you are concerned about the czar problem in this country, then the following bill needs your support - we must raise awareness. If you have no idea what the czar problem is, then perhaps you should read my previous post on the matter . For those familiar, here is a piece of the bill, actually it's practically the whole thing and written in a language most Americans can understand (*cough* health reform bill *cough*). Contact your local rep and tell him or her that you support this bill and wish to see it passed. I will begin writing for Examiner.com in the local Boston politics section as of this day and will for the time being maintain both sites. I plan to use Examiner.com for quick hitting articles covering current topics and will use this space to rant about anything else. American politics can be best described as an ever lasting battle between conservatives and liberals, ideologies transcending parties and labels, manifesting from deep rooted moral convictions, knowledge and experience. As much as I would prefer to introduce a third perspective into this struggle, the equilibrium between these two forces allows for a perfect harmony to exist just like the eternal struggle between darkness and light, wet and dry, good and evil. In a not so surprising told-you-so moment, information has emerged suggesting that the ever popular Cash for Clunkers program has paid out a mere two percent of the claims filed by dealers. Not only frustrating dealers, but also screwing people with four out of five applicants being rejected for what can be best described as 'minor oversight'. In a story on fox news , we learn that many dealers are getting extremely frustrated by the overwhelmingly slow response by the federal government in handling applications. A staff of just over two hundred people appears to be woefully insufficient in determining whether a car is a clunker, how much to rebate and other pressing matters so very vital to our economy. Hillary Clinton is now on the minds of pundits and commentators with her outburst at a town hall event in Africa. An individual had the gumption to ask Hillary Clinton what Mr. Clinton thought about a certain topic, granted we learned later that apparently the translation went bad and it was supposed to be Mr. Obama, but Pandora's box was opened. I am going to slightly disagree with my conservative brethren here, I find Hillary's response to be understandable. Paging Jonah Goldberg! If this developing story did not smack of some twisted Orwellian nightmare then I might chuckle, but instead I am left wondering if this is the start of something bigger. In any event, I am not sure if there has been a precedent of this nature and I am holding the White House responsible. Unless of course if Secret Service calling up individuals because of what they post on the Internet is normal, then perhaps I am just over reacting.
