ObamaCare and Baucus will destroy state budgets.

Wall Street Journal published an opinion piece yesterday, called Mad Max's Mandate. MMM is no longer the universal sound for yummy tasting food, it is now Max Baucus's version of ObamaCare and it's coming to a state near you. We have mentioned this bill previously and even though it lacks the notorious public option, some of the underlying ideas are equally dangerous best illustrated in pill format. Read the whole WSJ piece, but the crux of the problem lies in the following:

Democrats want to use Medicaid to cover everyone up to at least 133% of the
federal poverty level, or about $30,000 for a family of four. Starting in 2014,
Mr. Baucus plans to spend $287 billion through 2019—or about one-third of
ObamaCare's total spending—to add some 11 million new people to the Medicaid
rolls
This may sound noble and generous, but it's a disaster in disguise. Like Medicare, Medicaid is a controlled "single-payer" system with price fixing, restrictions, regulations and limitations. Beyond being riddled with fraud and waste the expenditures of these programs rises every year in what appears to be a parabolic fashion. In A real diagnosis - Medicare, Medicare is projected to consume 40% of all tax revenues by 2083 and Medicaid seems to be right behind it. So how does Baucus expect the States to embrace dumping millions of people into arguably the worst form of medical insurance? Money of course.

Mr. Baucus hopes to use his printing press to bribe the governors, at least for
a time. Currently, the federal government pays about 57 cents out of every
dollar the states spend on Medicaid, though the "matching rate" ranges as high
as 76% in some states. That would rise to 95%—but only for five years. After
that, who knows?
Right now federal moneys or your taxpayer dollars are subsidizing Medicaid programs all across the nation. Beyond the obvious sacking of the 10th Amendment our federal government encourages misuse by supplying States from a slush fund pooled from every citizen. This leads to all sorts of shoddy accounting practices where moneys designed to match Medicaid are used for personal state expenditures. Ironicall,y usage of this money for anything other than Medicaid may very well be the best path considering how much waste and abuse goes on in Medicaid.

However something far more sinister is happening. In combination of raising poverty levels and bribing governors with federal money matches the onus on insuring people falls on the state. Our state of Massachusetts already wastes a QUARTER of the budget on Medicaid! If this horrendous piece of dung of a bill goes through we will be in financial apocalypse within 10 years. Worse yet, the number of people who are trying to climb out of poverty and assume personal responsibility will be sucked into a giant government vortex. Medicaid like welfare has one of the worst effects on the poor of any social aid program. By dispensing money to low income families the desire to break free from Medicaid and seek employment, buy insurance and ween oneself of government aid disappears. It would take someone on Medicaid to almost double their salary in order to make up for the loss in aid being given. More on Medicaid this week, but in essence Baucus is purposely trying to bankrupt the states, create millions of people dependent on government and loyal to the liberal cause while depriving Americans of their incomes, choice and liberties. Worst of all, he thinks he is helping.
