EPA lawyers speak out against Cap and Trade, propose alternative plan. NOAA throws wrench in alarmist's plans.
Look, global warming has not been able to get any traction despite Al Gore winning a Noble prize the honor of which has certainly been put under scrutiny recently. However there are still plenty of people who are willing to buy the hype and can even consider that the alarmists may be onto something. Personally, it does not matter ot me one bit if there is a group of people who think that oceans are rising because I forgot to turn my light off. Frankly, I have heard of crazier things. It does get a bit annoying to listen to these alarmist views considering they are describing nature. "The oceans are rising!" "The rivers are shrinking" "The coast cities are sinking" "Polar bears are sweating". So what? Long before you and me and even Pelosi (although questionable), all these natural phenomenons existed. You know why that hunk of ice we call Greenland was called Greenland? Because it was green! So go ahead and scream like a lunatic.
But here is the problem.
Their lunacy is somehow translating into political action that threatens to undermine our productivity and lower our standard of living. Why? I would understand the idea of weening ourselves off Saudi oil, but because the oceans are rising? You know, the sun will explode at one point too - should I stop tanning? The magnificent piece of dung colloquially known as Cap and Trade is a product of this extreme paranoia. Fortunately we have some semi-sensible people that see past big government tricks and made a 10 minute video highlighting the failure proposed by the Waxman bill and narrowly passing House. Seems like narrowly passing House is becoming a regular occurrence.
Watch the video as they explain how big government and special interests reap massive profits while the rest of us suffer and more importantly, virtually no clean energy solutions are implemented.
Note: This video has come under pressure from the White House and the EPA, so this may not be around for long.
Classic example of big government trying to do something right - and getting it so very wrong. This is not the first time cap and trade has been attempted and the video illustrates it's tremendous failures. The two lawyers then go ahead and propose something called Carbon Fees, which they believe will usher in incentives and innovation to jump start the green economy.
The two lawyers, however, while smart enough to realize that KneeCap and Trade is a disaster are not much different than the global warming alarmists. This is where they lose me and where you should disregard them. Using data from the IPCC a political group with obvious bias, they conclude that disaster is on it's way. Riiiiight.
This is the same IPCC that claimed the 90s was the hottest decade EVER. Turns out they made a slight error in judgment. Worse yet the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released it's state of the Climate Review. Here is the first sentence.
Not convinced? Then why does this happen? (Which by the way even contradicts my explanation of the earth naturally warming (or cooling) because it wants to, regardless of what we humans do).
But look - if a company was to present to me a car that emitted water instead of noxious fumes and told me it costs the same, I would definitely buy the water emitting vehicle. If instead the same company MADE me buy this vehicle while telling me it's twice as expensive as my gas guzzler for no other reason than because Al Gore said so - well then we have a serious problem.

The average October temperature of 50.8°F was 4.0°F below the 20th Century average and ranked as the 3rd coolest based on preliminary data.
For the nation as a whole, it was the third coolest October on record. The month was marked by an active weather pattern that reinforced unseasonably cold air behind a series of cold fronts. Temperatures were below normal in eight of the nation's nine climate regions, and of the nine, five were much below normal. Only the Southeast climate region had near normal temperatures for October.Yeah. EPA lawyers are smart, but they are still drinking the Kool-Aid. That is not to say that their idea is bad, but if its an idea based on a fear that we will soon explode in a violent vortex of emission gases as punishment for our sins - then its not a terribly good foundation.

At December's U.N. Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world's top climatologists stood up and said man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?"
The earth's temperature peaked in 1998. It's been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels.Quick, there are 650 right-wing extremists in Poland pretending to be climatologists, get them!!!
