Michelle Obama socks taxpayers with a 250k vacation bill.

An interesting story coming from the family that is supposed to represent the common people, unlike the filthy Republicans and their corporate back scratching.   Yet how many common folks go to Spain with their friends and stay at some of the most luxurious hotels, eat at the fanciest restaurants and drag around a security detail  that is only rivaled by that of the president himself? 

What most people need to remember is that the division of the political elite class in this country is growing.  While we certainly have a problem with CEO pay dwarfing the average pay of the respective employee, the bigger problem is the ballooning elite class.

 

This is a perfect example of the mysterious stereotype formed in this country.  Supposedly Republicans represent big business and liberals represent the common people.   This kind of partisan stupidity really serves no one and the truth of the matter is that both Republicans and Democrats represent big business, simply because politics is all about money and money is generated from corporations interested in legislative kickbacks.  Secondly liberal politicians are by far the most detached and often act in ways that resemble French aristocracy just before the revolution kicked into high gear.

In the video, Geraldo tries to defend the first lady (foolishly), but like Powers states - there is NEVER a good time to take this kind of vacation - recession or not.   The entire debate and discussion is framed incorrectly, because under what circumstances should we paying for our leader's vacations?  Never.  This is a disgusting display of arrogance that is extremely fitting from an individual who only recently became proud of her country.

What is wrong with this country?

I was browsing the latest IBD poll and it finally struck me. I had this idea brewing for the past few weeks now and this particular poll hit a nerve. What jumped out was the age group and who they are likely voting for. Obama / McCain 18-24: 74% 21% The rest of the age groups are more or less even with ages 65+ leaning more for McCain. Those folks should probably avoid leaning - hazardous to their health. Now, if you are a member of this group and are part of the 74% you are probably feeling good about yourself. If you are in the 21% then you are probably used to feeling desperate and angry that your peers ostracize you as if you were the next coming of the bubonic plague. But this number is very telling. 401k Takeover Proposal. IRAs in danger?

Just read a piece that made my blood boil. The story is from Carolina Journal, but I will paste the first paragraph below. Even if you currently do not have a 401k, this is the most dangerous proposal I have ever heard. The only similar example I can think of, would be the gold seizure under FDR. If this proposal becomes legitimate, you MUST write to your local representative, congressman, senator, etc. This will be absolutely crippling to our economy as investors will stage a mass exodus out of the market. If you want a demonstration of this in action, look at Argentina. They just did something very similar.
