Why Obama won.

I have been getting frustrated by the collective musings of Americans who are under the impression that a historic seismic shift transpired on November 4 th . Significance of a bi-racial man elected as president is most certainly a notable event, but so is the election of the most liberal left-wing candidate in history. Although official numbers are still not released we can make some very reasonable assumptions of the turnout (source: wikipedia ). Barack Obama Democratic Illinois 66,117,432 52.6% John McCain Republican Arizona 57,847,877 46.1% Total: 123.4M George W. Bush Republican Texas 62,040,610 50.74% John F. Kerry Democratic Massachusetts 59,028,444 48.27% Total: 121M An increase of 2+ million voters between 2004 and 2008, not the kind of historic significance I was hoping to see. Furthermore what is striking is that Bush obtained almost 5 million more votes four years ago! This is an indication that Republicans sat home. There was probably some cross-over to the Democrat ca...

I vowed to ignore polls, but this is too much...

I regard Zogby as one of the best pollsters out there due to his methodology of targeting people who actually VOTE. Rasmussen is pretty good too. This is directly from the horsie's mouth. "Pollster John Zogby: "Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on." Race tightening? L...

Schwarzenegger is going to pump YOU up.

Schwarzenegger stomping in Ohio for McCain. Great speech, let me summarize it for you. 1) Obama is a skinny girly man 2) Obama is not a socialist because of his tax policies, he is a socialist because of his ideas 3) Obama spent less time in the senate than McCain did in the POW camp. 4) Obama is trying to buy his way into the presidency. Schwarzenegger said everything you pretty much need to know about John McCain and Barack Obama.

Who I am voting for!

Without delving too much into specifics, I am voting for Bob Barr. Living in MA, I can get away with it and frankly anyone living in deep blue or deep red (if those are still around) should consider doing the same. We need to send a message that the current parties are broken. Their primary focus is to grow and expand the government to the point of no return. Literally. No one actually shrinks this bloated beast and that means more waste, corruption, elimination of freedom, etc. HOWEVER, everyone else should vote for McCain. Obama is a threat to this country and I am saying this not because I am brainwashed by right wing fear-mongering. Rather all the time I spent researching and reading about Obama and his roots. I have made a video on the matter.

Michelle Obama and the October surprise?

This one is getting too juicy to ignore. As you may or may not have heard, apparently Michelle Obama called the African Press International and said some very nasty things, particularly in reference to the Berg v. Obama lawsuit. Here is a quote, full story below. "My husband and I know that there is no law that will stop him from becoming the president" Pretty brash, if true... I chose not to follow the story, because it was way too suspicious. I KNOW that Michelle is as crazy of a radical as her husband. She has quoted Alinsky once or twice, said unpatriotic things and is generally viewed by the majority of the public as a nasty individual. Fine. But she is not an idiot. Why would she possibly compromise the presidency of her husband by doing something so utterly reckless? Nothing short of an egomaniaial naracissistic psychopath would do this. Well, apparently API is sticking by their guns. Quite a few people including Jerome Corsi has written to them urging them t...

Hey Joe! You are the most popular plumber in America.

The way I see it. Spread the wealth around definitely sounds bad, Obama had little to say there. McCain should have used the words "socialism" and "liberal". Obama looked bad, but it could have been worse had McCain gone for the kill. Obama 0 McCain 1 Spending cuts was more of the same crap and I doubt Americans much care about the details put forth by the candidates. Obama gets the point for eloquence and for wisely bringing up Bush. Oof. Although I did enjoy "if you wanted to run against Bush, you should have run 4 years ago". cute. Why can't McCain just say "Obama you voted with your party 97% of the time". So much simpler. ugh. Obama 2 McCain 1 The question that Bob posed about nasty ads, was an absolutely perfect setup. PERFECT. After 5 minutes of useless back and forth, McCain finally went for it. Put Obama on the defensive! Excellent work John! Took some courage, but it is about freakin' time. Obama spun it as he...
