Deval Patrick shows MA taxpayers which jobs truly matter.

In the face of climbing unemployment the original hope and change, governor Deval Patrick appointed his friend to a position that has been vacant for YEARS. In the Boston Herald story, Marian Walsh was selected to be director of the state’s Health and Educational Facilities Authority and guess how many years that post has been unfilled? Three? Six? Try, twelve bloody years. Salary? $175,000!

Meanwhile we are facing down the barrel of the tax cannon, a potential increase on gas that would propel Massachusetts to the top of the heap in gas taxes making us number one. At least we are at the best at something - the reaming of taxpayers. This is on top of the already existing proposed taxes on alcohol, sodas, candy, car taxes (RMV fees) and probably a litany of other small revenue boosters that I am not aware of.

As the article points out correctly, Patrick has the audacity to get up in front of us and ask for sacrifices? I don't understand what planet these people live on. Hypocrisy does not begin to accurately describe what these politicians are doing, only words like stupidity, idiocy, lunacy, thievery and mental relapse come close.

I probably should not be that upset given that 70% of my fellow taxpayers willingly voted to continue handing over their income tax to this mob of raving lunatics. Not to harp on the matter any longer, but the irony is still ringing in my years, after all, we were warned that voting to repeal the income tax would result in higher taxes. I bet the detractors would claim it would have been worse, but really? Would it really have been worse? Can you see them filling a 12 year vacant spot with that kind of salary if they were forced to make drastic cuts. Corruption will always be a part of the political arena, but if we continue giving them means to feed the corruption then we are doing ourselves a gigantic disservice.

What Devolved Patrick just did is inexcusable and unjustifiable. If I were a governor of this state, my focus would be on eliminating jobs in government given that unemployment shot up to 8%, NOT creating new jobs.
