Obama slams Republicans and Independents, praises Democrats.

Yesterday (video below), President Obama in his usual elitist manner accused a majority of Americans being brainless zombies, while praising Democrats for being " an opinionated bunch" while the other side just "do what they are told". There are several problems with this statement, beyond the glaring partisanship exhibited by our President.  First of all Obama's popularity is in the toilet and has been there for quite some time, perhaps this fact is bringing about more elitism than usual.  According to Rasmussen.
For the first time during Obama’s time in office, the Approval Index has been in negative double digits for seven straight days. Fifty percent (50%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 66% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove of his performance. Among those not affiliated with either major political party, 18% Strongly Approve and 42% Strongly Disapprove.
Interesting to note that his opinionated bunch still blindly support him while the rest of country erodes.  Now let's face it folks, Obama so far has been a terrible president and here are some major reasons.
  • Transparency: Where is it?  This was promised to us and after the age of Cheney, it is hard to imagine that the White House and Congress have become more secretive.  People are instructed to report "fishy" behavior to the white house.  Czars with radical pasts circumvent Congressional oversight.   Nobody is reading the bills in Congress and some even refuse to post them for the public.  Obama's henchmen are attacking Fox News and the country is growing more and more divided.   
  • Wars:  Obama was supposed to be the anti-war candidate, but nothing changed.  Waffling on Afghanistan is not leadership and there is no reason why anymore Americans need to die in that useless place.  Withdraw our fellow citizens out of that wretched country and grow a damn backbone!
  • Debt:  Obama blasted Bush for sinking us into a massive defecit and crushing debt, but what has he done?  He quadrupled Bush's defecit with reckless fiscal policies like his Stimulus package, auto bailouts, cash for clunkers and threatening to bankrupt us further with ObamaCare and Cap and Trade.  
  • Personal freedoms:  Obama's global warming agenda and "health care crisis" threaten to deprive Americans of the one thing we desperately need - choice.  As economic restraints are implemented, taxation goes up and companies are driven out of business, our choice becomes diminished.  Instead of making difficult decisions and shrinking government spending, we are not facing prospects of additional wealth distribution and skyrocketing energy prices.  What the hell?
So where are these smart Democrats and why have they not noticed the glaring pitfalls?

Obama is acting like a big baby and instead of understanding the nature behind his low approval ratings, he slings thinly veiled insults at the opposition.  He can't quite figure out where he went wrong, winning the presidency is still a referendum in his mind and he thinks that Americans enjoy the direction he is going.  He is still stuck in campaign mode and instead of lowering our deficit (the most important thing right now) sets records for television appearances, campaign appearances and late night talk show appearances.

What is wrong with this country?

I was browsing the latest IBD poll and it finally struck me. I had this idea brewing for the past few weeks now and this particular poll hit a nerve. What jumped out was the age group and who they are likely voting for. Obama / McCain 18-24: 74% 21% The rest of the age groups are more or less even with ages 65+ leaning more for McCain. Those folks should probably avoid leaning - hazardous to their health. Now, if you are a member of this group and are part of the 74% you are probably feeling good about yourself. If you are in the 21% then you are probably used to feeling desperate and angry that your peers ostracize you as if you were the next coming of the bubonic plague. But this number is very telling. 401k Takeover Proposal. IRAs in danger?

Just read a piece that made my blood boil. The story is from Carolina Journal, but I will paste the first paragraph below. Even if you currently do not have a 401k, this is the most dangerous proposal I have ever heard. The only similar example I can think of, would be the gold seizure under FDR. If this proposal becomes legitimate, you MUST write to your local representative, congressman, senator, etc. This will be absolutely crippling to our economy as investors will stage a mass exodus out of the market. If you want a demonstration of this in action, look at Argentina. They just did something very similar.
