Liberal Fascism: A book review

Just finished the book Liberal Fascism and have made a video review to summarize my thoughts. As with any video I make, I always miss some points - but it beats writing! Writing is for people like Jonah Golberg, the author of this fantastic compilation. In short, if you are familiar with this piece and been reluctant to get your hands on it, do yourself a gigantic favor and read it. If you never heard of this book, watch my review and get familiar :)

Obama slams thriving Wall St? Stocks plunge.

In the weekly address from the "office of the president-elect", an office that exists only in Obama's world, a troubling quote was delivered. Apparently Obama does not believe that that we can NOT have a thriving Wall St. when Main St. is suffering. What is interesting to note is that this speech was delivered Friday where the market action was peculiar at best. Stocks were in a hole all day and finally went into positive territory at around 3pm, suddenly within an hour the market shaved off all of it's gains. This kind of action can certainly be attributed to profit taking before a weekend, perhaps the Summit was spooking people - or maybe it was this beauty of a speech. You see, when half of the working families in America have a 401k retirement fund - a thriving Wall St. ensures that Americans can retire peacefully. A thriving Wall St not only helps companies tap into funds, but also puts money back into the pocket of Americans. Lastly and most importantly a th...

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State?

First there was much speculation about John Kerry (which would have been a horrible choice) and now there is speculation that Hillary might be SoS . My take is this. Hillary is a tough gal and I would actually feel safer with her as our diplomat in charge, I can see her telling Chavez or Ahma - wacka -job to bugger off more so than lifeless John Kerry could. However I see this as strictly a tactical move from Obama and serves to harm the conservative cause. Here is how. There is a huge group of angry Hillary supporters; some voted for McCain and others voted along party lines. They still secretly hope that in 2012 Hillary will run for president. Their hope translates to vigilance! They will be watching this administration like hawks and the second Obama screws up (and I assure you he will) these Hillary supporters will sound the alarm. Coincidentally on the other side of the political spectrum are the angry and battered conservatives/libertarians (like yours truly) who are doing the e...

Republicans defending Americans from the auto industry.

While I have many complaints that I have issued toward the Republican party, right now they are showing a certain amount of leadership that should be noted. The Big 3 (GM, Ford, Chrysler) are asking for 25 Billion dollars in bailout money. They are accusing the economy of destroying their business and furthermore threatening the country with devastation if they are allowed to fail. The truth is that the big 3 are destined to fail, they have created this situation themselves and it has nothing to do with the economy. The economy merely exposed their rotten infrastructure . Look at this: A blogger named Mark Perry wrote the following: "Total compensation per hour for the big-three car makers is $73.20. That’s a 52 percent differential from Toyota’s (Detroit South) $48 compensation (wages + health and retirement benefits). In fact, the over sized UAW-driven pay package for Detroit is 132 percent higher than that of the entire manufacturing sector of the U.S., which comes in at $31....

New Layout

What do you guys think of the new design? I was getting slightly depressed by the old design and if I want people to read my content, least I can do is provide pretty colors - right?

Paul Broun changes his mind on Obama the Dictator.

Yesterday I made a posting in reference to Broun's accusation of Obama looking like a dictator. It did not take long for the rest of the spineless politicians to send Mr. Broun into a corner. Story: Broun Apologizes I understand this kind of fiery rhetoric may offend a lot of people and in fact it may very well be overblown. However his point is entirely valid in the sense that the people should be vigilant. We are dealing with something very unusual here and when a president-elect suggests that we need a national force that is as well armed and as well funded as the US Military, it is alarming. Beyond the fact that the military has a budget of over 400 BILLION dollars, the necessity for such a force should raise many questions. The chain of command of this civilian force is also questionable as it would seem as of now that they will answer to the president - directly. People need to stop living in a politically correct fantasy world preaching the mantra of "it cannot happe...

Why Obama won.

I have been getting frustrated by the collective musings of Americans who are under the impression that a historic seismic shift transpired on November 4 th . Significance of a bi-racial man elected as president is most certainly a notable event, but so is the election of the most liberal left-wing candidate in history. Although official numbers are still not released we can make some very reasonable assumptions of the turnout (source: wikipedia ). Barack Obama Democratic Illinois 66,117,432 52.6% John McCain Republican Arizona 57,847,877 46.1% Total: 123.4M George W. Bush Republican Texas 62,040,610 50.74% John F. Kerry Democratic Massachusetts 59,028,444 48.27% Total: 121M An increase of 2+ million voters between 2004 and 2008, not the kind of historic significance I was hoping to see. Furthermore what is striking is that Bush obtained almost 5 million more votes four years ago! This is an indication that Republicans sat home. There was probably some cross-over to the Democrat ca...
