This is a quiz I created for the first four chapters of Mark Levin's book - Liberty & Tyrrany. Results .

Obama administration to impose salary restrictions.

Bailing out companies with taxpayer moneys was and still is a double edged sword, precisely the reason that doing so was catastrophic in every sense of the word.  In this story, we learned that certain companies are very likely to be on the receiving end of significant restrictions in compensation.      The seven companies are: Bank of America Corp., American International Group Inc., Citigroup Inc., General Motors, GMAC, Chrysler and Chrysler Financial.Total compensation for the top executives at the seven firms will decline, on average, by about 50 percent, according to the person familiar with the administration's decision. Great.  So now we have a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.  These corporations owe us quite a bit of money, hundreds of billions that could be used to stymie our deficit.  Their ability to pay back the money largely depends on a notion that our country will magically recover, an impossible event without a ...

Obama slams Republicans and Independents, praises Democrats.

Yesterday (video below), President Obama in his usual elitist manner accused a majority of Americans being brainless zombies, while praising Democrats for being " an opinionated bunch" while the other side just "do what they are told". There are several problems with this statement, beyond the glaring partisanship exhibited by our President.  First of all Obama's popularity is in the toilet and has been there for quite some time, perhaps this fact is bringing about more elitism than usual.  According to Rasmussen . For the first time during Obama’s time in office, the Approval Index has been in negative double digits for seven straight days. Fifty percent (50%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 66% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove of his performance. Among those not affiliated with either major political party, 18% Strongly Approve and 42% Strongly Disapprove. Interesting to note that his opinionated bunch still blindly support him while the rest of coun...

Update on ObamaCare progress

Bill at PatriotRoom has an audio clip featuring Senator John Thune (one of the good guys) discussing ObamaCare and what to expect in the next several weeks.  If you are concerned about this piece of legislation and still have not voiced your opinion to the White House/Senator then now is the time to do so.  The idea that a public option may still present itself is a bit troubling, but Thune predicts the version with the public option will meet it's demise opening the path for trickery involving the so-called "nuclear option".  Worth a read.

ACORN sting in Philadelphia, new video.

Another video from James/Hannah this time from Philadelphia, PA although somewhat different than the previous.  This video actually attempts to debunk previous allegations made by ACORN that some offices actually threw the two investigative journalists out and the video is quite successful.   Because of the legality involved I assume the video has been edited to protect some of the ACORN employees and you will therefore hear no audio from the staff, but it is quite apparent that the original allegation made by ACORN is faulty.  Still, it begs the question as to why ACORN was convinced that James would never show this video and why they were confident in going to the press accusing James of being tossed out. Something does not quite add up, but in the grand scheme of things it hardly matters.  Whether the Philadelphia office was complicit makes no difference to the general public, most thinking people realize the organization is riddled with liars and crooks....

More Americans supporting the legalization of Marijuana!

According to Gallup, whose numbers are to be considered with skepticism Americans now support legalization of good 'ol Mary Jane at the highest level yet; 44% . This is fantastic news as we have an administration in power that is actually capable of considering such legislation, but are currently too busy thinking of ways to destroy the economy instead of focusing on things that really matter.  Support for marijuana is growing, but at a painfully slow rate and this is due to the generational change.  More younger people support legalization (for their own personal needs) than the older more conservative population, leading me to the major point.  The highest level of support for decriminalizing the use of marijuana today is seen with self-described liberals, among whom 78% are in favor. In contrast, 72% of conservatives are opposed. What?  Can conservatives please wake up and smell the weed?  Might actually be good for you to loosen up and ponder on what you ...

The Return of the Great Depression - a book review.

Image
Once in a while, a book comes along that shakes so many of your core beliefs that you are left questioning either the integrity of what you have read or your own knowledge. In this particular case, I had the privilege of a sneak peek at The Return of the Great Depression by Vox Day and with most certainly can state, it is the latter. RGD as it shall be referred to from now on, as can be inferred from its title makes a very compelling case as to the state of our economy and where this nation is potentially headed. However do not be mislead by its name, for this is much more than a prophecy, it is principally and foremost an economic text diligently spending the majority of its efforts in explaining why we are standing on the edge of a precipice. A non trivial task to say the least as the American public has been on the receiving end of political pundits, commentators, journalists, politicians, bloggers and friends all who wish to explain in their own unique way the reasons behind ...
